Showing 3-star hotels, booked 15 days in advance. Pick cities on the left to plot and compare their average prices over time.
Each line represents one city's average hotel price over time for the chosen rating and advance booking period. Hover any line to highlight it and see the city, check-in date, and price at that point.
Use the Cities filter to pick the destinations you want to compare. The legend above the chart is color-coded and matches each line.
Prices are daily averages in USD for hotels of the selected star rating, booked the selected number of days in advance. All data is collected from Booking.com for 2 adults, 1 night, with breakfast included and a minimum review score of 7. Extreme-priced outliers are excluded before averaging, so a single unusual listing can’t distort a city’s line.
On near-sold-out dates (e.g. a festival or conference), only a handful of expensive rooms remain, so that day’s figure is an unrepresentative surge price. These low-availability points are still plotted, but excluded from the Average price above — hover one to see why.
Switch Rating or Advance period in the filter bar to change the comparison. Change Continent to narrow the city list.
Start with 3–5 cities for a readable chart. Adding more is fine — the legend wraps and hovering dims the others — but the first few lines tell the clearest story.
Seasonal spikes often cluster across a region, so comparing cities on the same continent is a good way to separate city-specific movement from a broader travel season.
